The Embarkation
AB Signature Paris was born of an airport more than an address. Paris, for A. and B., is not a headquarters: it is the gate one leaves from — the night beginning beyond a cabin window, the promise of an island at dawn. Two devotees of niche perfumery, two temperaments, one direction. They chose to give only their initials: the rest belongs to the perfumes.
- The Centaur
- Two temperaments, one mount. The bull — quiet strength, patience. The archer — momentum, aim, horizon.
- The Bow
- The bow carries love — drawn, patient, precise. The arrow flies; the imprint remains.
- The Gold
- It passes through the centuries without losing its lustre. On every stopper, it seals the promise.
- Paris
- Not an address: a boarding gate. The door through which every journey that feeds a creation begins.
The Journeys
The rhythm of the House is set like a breath: two or three departures a year, never more. A journey must be earned — awaited, prepared, deserved. In that waiting, desire is born; on the return, the notebooks fill.
April 2023, French Polynesia: three weeks beneath the starry vault, and the sacred night of Moorea entering the notebook, never to leave it. November 2023, the Seychelles: granite and light, the high noon of La Digue — white, calm, exact. April 2024, Aruba: two weeks at the end of the trade winds, the sunset setting the sea ablaze.
Then the Mediterranean and the Atlantic: Sardinia in the summer of 2024, the Algarve in autumn, Fuerteventura in the depth of winter — their trade-wind coup de cœur —, Crete in spring 2025, Santorini in summer. Eight islands in two years. Three have already given a perfume; the others await their hour, somewhere in the pages.
From islands one brings back what cannot be packed: hours, light, scents.
The Brief
Two years of notebooks grow heavy. One winter, they become a document: six creations imagined, three versions asked of each — eighteen blotters asked of the nose. The brief concedes nothing: extrait de parfum, eight to twelve hours of longevity demanded on skin, strict compliance. Then the brief left for the perfumer.
3 versions per creation from the nose
The document exists. It shall remain sealed — only the three references born of it tell its story.
The Hand
Guillaume Cresp, in Grasse, answered with eighteen proposals. The rule of the House allows no appeal: a perfume must win you at the very first encounter, or disappear. There was no second trial. Three references survived — not one more.
Time did the rest. Four to six weeks of maceration, without haste: the extrait binds, deepens, finds its base. The creations were worn for months by those closest to the founders — on skin, at every hour — before being signed. The bottles were designed within the House; the bottling is done by their own hands. Nothing was left to chance.
If a juice does not win you over and stirs no emotion, it must be thrown away.
Three chapters appear
Three islands, three hours of the world, three extraits de parfum at 25% — each engraved with its island, sealed in gold — its 10 ml travel edition limited to 300 bottles. Not one more.
February 2027 — the passage
is already booked
Mauritius awaits. Other pages are already being written — the next journeys have their notebooks, and they will appear only when their hour comes, in limited editions, never otherwise. This is how the House moves forward: from journey to journey, so that desire never fades.
